Is sorrow the true wild?
And if it is—and if we join them—your wild to mine—what’s that?
For joining, too, is a kind of annihilation.
What if we joined our sorrows, I’m saying.
I’m saying: What if that is joy?

Welcome
However you have come to find yourself pursuing therapy, welcome.
Sometimes life feels too confusing, we become flooded with anxiety or we encounter heartbreak, loss, and experiences of trauma. We all have places of “wilderness” - sorrow in our stories. These are the places that I hope, as a therapist, to offer you a space for processing and receiving care. Together we will spend time untangling the stories and experiences of your life, to help you gain more clarity, peace and grounding for the future.
About Elise (she/her)
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, licensed in Washington State, and received my Masters in Counseling Psychology at The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology. It is here where I spent my school years gaining training in trauma-informed, relationally focused psychodynamic therapy. A lot of my schooling was attachment based, and learning how to use a narrative approach to trauma work.
Before therapy school, I studied studio art and worked in design. Art can be such an invitational tool to process emotions and experiences, and if spending our time together in creative ways feels helpful, that can definitely be part of our process.
When not sitting with clients, you can catch me watching movies or shows, trying to perfect some latte art, walking around the city with my sweet pup Lupin (who will come on the computer screen sometimes in sessions!), and eating burritos with my dear partner.
